Marc C. Fater, M.D. F.A.C.S.
Marc C. Fater graduated cum laude from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Temple University Medical School, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He did his residency training in general surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His residency in plastic surgery was at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr. Fater is board certified in plastic surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He joined Cape Cod Plastic Surgery, Inc. in July 1995.
Dr. Fater has a particular interest in cosmetic, reconstructive and body contouring surgery (both surgical and noninvasive). Additionally, he has broad experience in hand and pediatric plastic surgery.
He has lectured nationally and internationally on a diverse range of topics including breast reconstruction, wound healing and treatment of congenital deformities. Dr. Fater has been published in several peer reviewed journals in general as well as plastic surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Fater has been very active in the regional Physician Organization, Cape Cod Preferred Physicians since its onset ten years ago. This organization has joined with Cape Cod Hospital to form a Physician Hospital Organization devoted to providing quality, cost-effective care to the residents of Cape Cod. He is also one of the owners and is on the Board of Governors for the Ambulatory Surgery and Laser Center of Cape Cod in Sandwich, Massachusetts for the last twenty years.
When not working, Dr. Fater enjoys spending time with his wife Patty and his three sons. He is an avid sailor and skier and though not a great fisherman, can frequently be found on Nantucket Sound.
